Week 13 – Picks Against the Spread (2012)
Posted by Vegas Martin in NFL Picks on December 1st, 2012 | Comment »In week 12 we hit our top play in a teaser featuring Bengals (-2.5) over Raiders and Broncos (-3.5) over Chiefs. Sorry I could get my NFL betting picks up earlier this week, but it’s better late than never.
CHICAGO BEARS (-3.5) over Seattle Seahawks — Confidence: 8/10 — DA BEARS. Have to go Bears here at home.
Minnesota Vikings (+9.5) over GREEN BAY PACKERS — Confidence: 5/10 — Packers can easily lay a beating on the Vikings, but I think there’s a 50/50 shot of the Vikings ending up in the money with the points. Packers are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 following a straight up loss. I would rather tease Packers to (-2.5).
San Francisco 49ers (-7.5) over ST. LOUIS RAMS — Confidence: 7/10 — 49ers had a let-down game at home against the Rams the last time they played which ended up in a tie. Last week’s defensive performance from the 49ers against the Saints restored my confidence in them and Colin Kaepernick has given their offense a bit of a spark.
NEW YORK JETS (-4.5) over Arizona Cardinals — Confidence: 7/10 — There aren’t too many teams lousier than the Jets, but the Cardinals are one of them, and there couldn’t be a better opponent to take out some season frustrations on.
Carolina Panthers (-3.5) over KANSAS CITY CHIEFS — Confidence: 7/10 — The Chiefs are headed towards getting the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft, don’t screw it up by starting to win now.
DETROIT LIONS (-4.5) over Indianapolis Colts — Confidence: 6/10 — The public is favoring the Colts (+4.5), but I’m liking the Lions here. The Lions had two super tough opponents at home in the Packers and Texans in the last two weeks. Now the Colts come into town for the Lions third-straight home game. The Lions seem due for a big home win after facing a tough beat against the Texans on Thanksgiving. They also benefit from extra rest.
Jacksonville Jaguars (+6) over BUFFALO BILLS — Confidence: 6/10 — I’m a believer in these Jaguars with Chad Henne as the QB. All of a sudden Cecil Shorts and Justin Blackmon are fantasy monsters. They have a legitimate shot at an outright win, so I’ll gladly take the (+6). I think the most likely outcome is the Bills winning by 3-4 points.
New England Patriots (-9) over NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS — Confidence: 7/10 — Patriots have been on fire. Dolphins D may make this game look tight in the first half, but they’ll start to break down and Tom Brady will run away with this game in the second half.
Houston Texans (-6.5) over TENNESSEE TITANS — Confidence: 5/10 — I wouldn’t be shocked with the Titans covering or even outright winning. The Texans have been so decimated at the linebacker position due to injuries that the Titans have a chance to win here. The Texans have given up 30+ points in the last two games. Despite my concerns, I still gave to take the Texans here though.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+9.5) over DENVER BRONCOS — Confidence: 6/10 — The Broncos are very hot right now and Petyon Manning has been outstanding out home, but I’ve been very high on the Bucs over the last several weeks and feel like I should continue to ride them. Bucs are 4-1 SU and 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5. I wished they would have beaten the Falcons last week, but they fell short losing 24-23. The Broncos are equally hot though, 6-0 SU and 4-2 ATS in their last 6.
BALTIMORE RAVENS (-9.5) over Pittsburgh Steelers — Confidence: 6/10 — It looks like I found my game to pair in a teaser with the Packers. With Big Ben out, the Steelers look to drop another. They’ve lost two straight against the Ravens and Browns. I wouldn’t drop 9.5 on them, but I’m very comfortable with the line at 2.5.
Cleveland Browns (-1) over OAKLAND RAIDERS — Confidence: 7/10 — I keep taking the Browns and they keep doing me right. Browns are 3-1 ATS and 2-2 SU in their last 4.
Cincinnati Bengals (-1) over SAN DIEGO CHARGERS — Confidence: 6/10 — The Bengals are getting hot and the Chargers are getting cold just awful. Chargers are 1-6 SU and 2-5 ATS in their last 7. Bengals are 3-0 SU and ATS in their last 3. The trend is your friend.
DALLAS COWBOYS (-10.5) over Philadelphia Eagles — Confidence: 6/10 — I’m and Eagles fan and they make me sick to my stomach. This one is going to hurt once again. It’s a lot of points but the Eagles are epically bad.
New York Giants (-3) over WASHINGTON REDSKINS — Confidence: 6/10 — How about that for a statement game for the Giants last week. What a domination over the Packers. Looks like the Giants are ready for the playoffs.
