Question: Should I start Adrian Peterson even though he is playing banged up?
Here is my current lineup:
QB: Eli Manning
RB: Marshawn Lynch
RB: Roy Helu
Flex: Shonn Greene
WR: Larry Fitzgerald
WR: Stevie Johnson
TE: Jimmy Graham
D: 49ers
K: Gostkowski
BENCH
Adrian Peterson
Antonio Gates
Jets D
James Jones
Laurent Robinson
Willis McGahee
Nate Washington
Should I put in Adrian Peterson? I feel like I should, but don’t know which player to take out. They are all projected to do well, and Peterson is only 85% according to ESPN. Your insight is appreciated.
Answer:
Definitely start Adrian Peterson instead of Roy Helu. He said he’s coming back this week for his “fantasy owners”. I expect AP to be AP. He should be his usual self this week even at 85% and it’s not like the Saints have a good run defense either.

Question: I need some advice for week 13. I need to start three players out of the following.
WR:
Laurent Robinson @ ARI (Miles Austin might be back this game)
A.J. Green @ PIT
Mike Wallace vs. CIN
RB:
Rashard Mendenhall vs. CIN
Ryan Mathews @ JAX
C.J. Spiller vs. TEN
Mark Ingram vs. DET
Pick 3 and tell me why!
Answer:
Ryan Mathews – San Diego is due for a win and the Jaguars fired their head coach and are using their defensive coach as a stand-in. Their lackluster offense should be an even bigger mess. Look for SD to pull ahead and give Matthews the go ahead late in the game to gain yards and eat clock.
C.J. Spiller- Tennessee has a staunch pass defense and Buffalo will likely use Spiller’s big play ability out of the backfield as a check down/screen player. With Jackson out, he’ll be getting all of Buffalo’s carries.
Laurent Robinson – Even if Austin returns, Arizona is awful against the pass and Laurent Robinson has a touchdown catch in five games and seven touchdowns over the previous five games. They won’t be benching him at this pace. Miles Austin may take him out of a few plays, but Robinson should still see plenty of playing time.

I just went back and was looking at my Monday Night picks. We are 5-0 ATS in our last 5 Monday Night picks. Read ’em and weep: Chargers, Saints, Patriots, Packers, and Chiefs. Boom goes the dynamite! Last week our picks went 4-2 ATS. Taking a look at this week, it’s definitely not as easy as last week, but let’s get into it.
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (-9) @ WASHINGTON REDSKINS
In the Redskins last 8 games, they are 1-7 (2-6 ATS). I was able to capitalize off them last week when the Jets were one of my top plays. The Redskins are depleted with injuries. LaRon Landy is out, London Fletcher is questionable, Trent Williams is out, and Fred Davis is out. With the Patriots nearly doubling the Redkins in PPG, I’ll take the Pats. The Pats are averaging 30.2 PPG compared to the Redskins 16.8 PPG. The only downside to this pick is the Patriots defense can be a liability (the Colts scored 24 points against them last week). With the AFC race pretty tight and the Pats still vying for a No. 1 or 2 seed, I think you’ll see a focused Patriots team ready to roll. The last time the Patriots faced the Redskins was in 2007 as 15-point favorites and they crushed the Redskins 52-7.
Prediction: Patriots 31 – Redskins 17
Pick Against the Spread: Patriots -9 (Confidence: 4/5)
NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (-3.5) @ TENNESSEE TITANS
You usually see the Saints getting good spreads on the road since they’re 3-8 ATS in their last 11 road games. I have played the Saints a few times this year and their 8-4 ATS record has rewarded me more than once. Although the …

Yesterday’s picks went 3-2 ATS. I was about to cut myself off after the Panthers pick, but had to throw out a 5th pick in the Cowboys but warned I wasn’t very confident in the play. Since my top-money play was the Ravens, it made for a great week while the Jets and Panthers also chipped in for the winning week.
SAN DIEGO CHARGERS (-3) @ JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS
I’m looking for reasons to go Jags here since they’re at home on Monday night, but I just cannot come up with too many reasons to pick them. The Jaguars are 3-8 and have the league’s worst offense, averaging just 250 yards-per-game and 12.5 PPG. The only argument one could make for the Jaguars, other than being a home dog on Monday night, is that they also happen to beat the Ravens on Monday night on October 24. The Jags won that game 12-7 by pressuring the Ravens, creating turnovers, and getting lucky. I’ll write that one off as a fluke as the Jaguars are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 Monday Night games.
While San Diego has been bad this year and their 4-7 (2-9 ATS) record has turned bettors off from them, I think you’re getting a great spread to take them here. San Diego is averaging 22.6 PPG. If the Chargers win tonight, there’s still room for them to win the AFC West as they’ll be just 2 games behind with 4 more to play. With WR Maclolm Floyd back, Rivers will have another receiver to work with as well. I’m expecting the Chargers 6th-ranked passing offense to get the job done on Monday night, but the Chargers 26th-ranked run defense will keep the Jaguars in the game with …

We are back with our NFL picks for week 13. I don’t like any home teams on this week’s card, which has forced me to pick five road team. That makes me a bit weary — you know that one or two of these road dogs will pull off a surprising upset, but who will it be? Nobody knows yet. I love the Falcons, Ravens, and Jets this week. Here is what I have on tap.
ATLANTA FALCONS (-2.5) @ HOUSTON TEXANS
With the Texans starting quarterback and backup quarterback both on the IR, how does Vegas have the Texans as mere 2.5-point underdogs? The Texans will have to turn to rookie Taylor Yates, their 2011 5th-round selection out of UNC. After coming into the Jaguars game after Leinart got hurt, Yates thew 8/15 for 70 yards to hold onto the 20-10 lead the Texans had. The Texans put up 0 points in the second half. Atlanta has won their last 5 of 6 games, so I like their chances in this one against the Texans 3rd string QB. All eyes will be on Arian Foster and if they can stop him, they should win this game. I’m expecting the Falcons to dominate this game.
Prediction: Falcons 27 – Texans 17
Pick Against the Spread: Falcons -1 (Confidence: 4/5)
NEW YORK JETS (-1) @ WASHINGTON REDSKINS
Quite a favorable spread as I feel the Jets should be 3.5-point favorites. The line opened at -1 and has since moved to -3 at most books, but you can still find the line at -1 at some outfits. The Redskins have been awful. They just recently snapped a 6-game skid with a win over the Seattle Seahawks last week. The Jets are in the …

Question: Week 15: Start/Sit advice Fantasy Football (FLEX)?
I need 2 WR this week, so who would you start out of this lineup?
Steve Smith @ HOU
Mike Wallace @ SF
Laurent Robinson @ TB
Devin Thomas vs. NE
Best answer:
You always have to go with your studs and your studs are Steve Smith and Mike Wallace. Thomas is hit or miss. Laurent Robinson is tempting, but you gotta live and die with your best players. Laurent Robinson had a great game last week against the Giants and he’s stepped up for the injured Miles Austin. I assume this is the playoffs. Tough luck that Wallace is up against the stingy 49ers defense and Ben Roethlisberger is banged up.
