Week 13 Live Game Notes
Posted by Vegas Martin in NFL General on November 30th, 2008 | Comment »— RAVENS: The Ravens take an early 6-0 lead, but it should be 10-0. They took the ball down to the 2, but had to settle for 3 instead of 7. Another 3 and out for the Bengals. It looks like we should be seeing a lot of those throughout the day. Allright, the Ravens finally put up 7. Take the 13-0 lead. This one goes into the half at 13-3. Fitzpatrick had a nice scramble and later connected to Houshmandzadeh for a 47-yard grab. Bengals threatened inside the redzone, but had to settle for 3. Raven TD. Derrick Mason delivers. 20-3. Mark Clayton goes yard, 70 yards to the house. 27-3. That’s what I’m talking about! I knew this one would be this week’s lock! Ravens win 34-3.
— BILLS: The Bills, who I have in a pick ’em teaser (with NYJ and BAL), had a 2nd and goal from the 2-yard line, but couldn’t get it in and missed a 19-yard FG! That would have tied it at 7, but now they’re still battling to get that TD back. This one goes into the half San Fran up 10-0. Bills take it to the 3 again, but settle for 3. Bills trail 10-3.
— COLTS: Addai gave up a fumble on the Colts first drive, which led to 3. The Colts answered back with a FG, the Browns managed another 3 and the Colts responded with a by taking it inside the redzone. They take it to the 1 and it’s 4th and 1. This is just the theme of the day, isn’t it? Manning snuck it in! Finally got a break. No wait! Manning lost the ball, the Browns recovered. This is just ridiculous! The refs said only Manning could recover the fumble and not another player from the team, who recovered in the endzone. Goes into half 6-3. Who would have thought. Manning throws a pick at the 50. Bad news just gets worse in this one. Whoo! Browns miss an easy FG. Finally a break! Vinnateri then misses an FG. It’s crazy windy out there. No wonder it’s an ugly game. Colts get a defensive TD. 10-6. There’s the break I needed! Just need a FG to cover and there’s still plenty of time left. This one really ended at 10-6. I’m pretty surprised. Colts win, but I didn’t cover by 1 point.
— FALCONS: Atlanta took a 15-7 lead into the halftime so with the 5 points, I’ll take a 13 point lead. Another goal-line stand today. Can you believe it? The Falcons had a 2nd and goal on the 1 and couldn’t get it in. Unbelievable. Falcons fumbled in the redzone and it was returned 86 yards for a touchdown by the Chargers. You can’t win games doing that. Falcons up 15-13, so we’re still a TD ahead with the points. Falcons win 22-16.
