WEEK 2 OVER/UNDER PICKS
CHICAGO @ GREEN BAY — OVER/UNDER 50.5 — Slight lean on the over as Green Bay usually puts up at least 30 points when playing at home and I expect the Bears to put up at least 20.
TAMPA BAY @ NEW YORK GIANTS – OVER/UNDER 44 — Tampa Bay’s defense has improved and they’re not an offensive Juggernaut. I think you see a final score in the ballpark of 24-17.
BALTIMORE @ PHILADELPHIA — OVER/UNDER 46.5 — Both teams have strong defenses, but their offenses can put up points against tough defenses. Both teams should score in the 20’s.
CLEVELAND @ CINCINNATI — OVER/UNDER 38.5 — The public is split down the middle. It’s a low number. I don’t expect to Browns to score more than 13. The Bengals should be due for 20-24. Slight lean on the under.
OAKLAND @ MIAMI — OVER/UNDER 38.5 — Both had trouble scoring in week 1. I’m expecting a 20-17 final score. Slight lean on the under.
NEW ORLEANS @ CAROLINA — OVER/UNDER 51 — Both defenses are atrocious. This should be a shootout as both teams should put up a minimum of 24 points and them some. Over looks like the play here despite the high number. Last year in Carolina, the Saints won 30-27. 74% of the public likes the over and so do I.
MINNESOTA @ INDIANAPOLIS — OVER/UNDER 44.5 — The Colts have a soft defense so Minnesota should put up points. I also expect Andrew Luck to come out firing and get a couple TDs under his belt. I like this over pick if 44 is the number. Vegas must be thinking a 24-20 final as 53% is on the over.
KANSAS CITY @ BUFFALO — OVER/UNDER 44.5 — The public is leaning the over since both teams were blown out in week 1. I expect Buffalo’s defense to play much better at home and both offenses are short of being dynamite. If this game was in week 1, you would likely see an over/under of 41. There is some value in the under. In 2010, 13-10 was the outcome between these teams. In 2009, 16-10 was the outcome. However, the Bills blew out the Chiefs 41-7 last season.
HOUSTON @ JACKSONVILLE — OVER/UNDER 41.5 — How many can Jacksonville score against the Texans? I’m not expecting more than 17 max. I think the Texans are due for at least 24. I’m expecting a 27-17 win by the Texans. I’ll go with over as 41.5 as it looks like a small number for a Texans game.
DALLAS @ SEATTLE — OVER/UNDER 41.5 — I’ll go over again as this looks like a small number. However, a 24-13 Dallas win wouldn’t shock me. 63% of the public likes the over. Seattle can put up some points at home so maybe you see Dallas win this one 24-20.
NEW YORK JETS @ PITTSBURGH — OVER/UNDER 41.5 — The last two Jets/Steelers games went over 36 and over 38 so Vegas had to move this one up a bit. The final scores in the previous two were 24-19 and 22-17. This is going to be a tight one with the over/under and the public is split 50/50. You could see this one end 24-17, or an extra score would put this over. This one is too close to call, but I’ll go with the over.
WASHINGTON @ ST. LOUIS — OVER/UNDER 45.5 — 65% of the public is going over and how can you not with RGIII? I think you see him continue to roll. How many points can the Rams come up. Keep in mind that 7 of their 23 last week came via a pick 6 and they got several other scoring opportunities due to turnovers. Without those turnovers, St. Louis could be limited to 13-17 points, which means you’ll need 29-33 points from the Redskins and that looks too ambitious. I’ll go against the public and go under here.
DETROIT @ SAN FRANCISCO — OVER/UNDER 46.5 — This one should play out like the Saints/49ers playoff game which saw a 36-32 final. The 49ers/Packers went over 46.5 and I think this one should too. 57% of the public likes the over.
DENVER @ ATLANTA — OVER/UNDER 51 — I’m expecting an offensive duel here. It’s a high number but one that 57% of the public likes. Both teams should be due for at least 24 points and 1 more TD gets you to the number. 34-27 final?
